On his very first outing (9-10 Feb 08 Tielcey Park) Winnetou scored the "Reserve Championship" after four "Novice tests" in which had the following scores: Second level tests - 2:1 = 64.583; 2:2 = 67.097; 2:3 = 66.25; 2:4 = 68.462. He received repeatedly "8" for 'working trot' and 8 & 7 for his 'paces'. Needless to say that Jutta was very pleased with their 'team performance' and in particular as Winnetou showed his perfect temperament and willingness to work!

Over the year we experienced that breeding is hazardous.

Being successful there leads to rearing and then to starting the youngster.

Jutta did this so beautifully again with our WINNETOU.

On his first outing he won his tests and even scored a "Reserve Champion".

Jutta was convinced that she had a Grand Prix horse in the making.

However in August 2008 tragedy struck ... "Tui", as Jutta called him lovingly, got somehow during an awful storm into the swollen Kai Iwi stream and was washed against a fallen tree across the river where he stayed trapped and drowned.

For Berny there was only one thing left to do: have him freed and buried.

Jutta was at the time visiting Germany - It was devastating news for her, having cared for Tui from birth and being set back for at least for a further 3-4 years before the next star after a lot of polishing begins to shine for her!

However, she took the bad news on the chin.
