History of the Hanoverian
There can be no question that the Hanoverian horse today is one of the most prominent breeds of riding horse in the world. The present studbook comprises close to 19,000 broodmares and 420 approved breeding stallions and covers the largest homogeneous breeding area in Europe. In fact, Hanoverians are found in all five continents. The New Zealand Hanoverian Society was founded in 1977 under the guidance of the Verband. The breeding rules were laid down, which in turn protected the selective quality of the Hanoverian. Hence we can proudly present progeny with the world famous "H-brand" which carries since 1993 the additional and identifying letters ‘NZ’. Vollrath Stud has added its own brand with the arrival of Worldwide PB.
The potential buyer of a "Hanoverian made in New Zealand" can have absolute confidence regarding the quality of their purchase.
