 Lessing turned heads at the 2007 Stallion Parade in Cambridge. August, 2007
 I am back from a very nice and fruitful visit to Germany. Amongst other things I attended a Foal Auction at Muenster/Handorf, which is the auction - and performance testing center of the WESTFALEN Horses. It was impossible to sit on my hands for the extremely well bred colt Fürst Patrick, who carries most powerful and non existing dressage bloodlines in NZ. Although he is branded as a Westfale he nevertheless has a ton of very connecting Hanoverian blood via WARKANT (by World Cup I) with our stallions WORLDWIDE P.B. and LESSING. The little fellow will stay for a while in Germany until he is strong enough to bear the journey to NZ. Jutta and I are very excited to have and grow him on here in Vollrath's paddocks. The colt qualified for the German Federal Foal Championship, where he was placed 4th.
July, 2007
2006 was a very eventful year at Vollrath Stud. The decision was made to 'shrink' in size of land and numbers in horses .... Our beautiful stallion WORLDWIDE PB was sold to Australia, where he is having great success with Claire Wickins from Tennyson Stables. Jutta truly got our last Dynamit offspring, DORNKAAT, going and he is in Australia as well. Furthermore the Vollrath-bred gelding WILHELM TELL went from Mandy Littlejohns stable to Australia. Some of our broodmares went to New Zealand breeders - in foal of course to Worldwide (1) and Lessing (3).
 2006 was Lessing's first season to have foals on the ground. With certainty we can say now that our expectations were fulfilled if not surpassed. The feed back from breeders to Lessing was fantastic, it contained the same statements: the foals are beautiful in conformation - long legged with strong top-lines and overall very good looks matched with movement and temperament. So it is not surprising that quite a number of Lessing-weanlings changed hands at very good prices. Vollrath bought back 4 youngsters from breeder friends = Lagerfeld - Le Vivre - Live! - Limerick. Jutta is looking forward to see these youngsters grow and bring them on ... all of them will excel in any of the equestrian disciplines. We are confident to produce in these progeny some very good eventing horses, as Lessing has two TB grandsires and he is showing great style over jumps - and his strength in the dressage arena is obvious! He will compete for the NZ YOUNG DRESSAGE HORSE title in 2008.
